16 Students Suspended After Changing Grades

Nerds! Nerds! Nerds!

Several students were suspended from International Academy in Bloomfield Hills for using their computer skills to change grades.

Three students started the hacking spree last December, but when word spread, a total of 16 students, all freshmen, were the recipients of higher grades.

It took five months for the adults at the school to catch on, but fellow students had already heard.

Principal Burt Okma said, "A particular teacher noticed that grades listed were not the grades as he remembered them. We did a little investigation and then very quickly the students started coming forward."
